Listen Carefully

Paying attention is a super important rule when jamming with others, no matter where or how you're playing music together. Make sure you can hear the person leading the song or singing, and try to play your instrument more quietly if you can't. If you just keep playing loudly all the time, no matter what everyone else is doing, it's like you're all playing the same song separately. But if you listen to yourself while also listening to the group, you'll figure out how to fit in better. Soon enough, your jam will start sounding really good, and that's the best part of playing music with others!
