About Us

The West Side Cowboys are New York City’s premier bluegrass, honky-tonk, and country band, bringing traditional American music to life with an NYC twist. Based in the heart of New York, our band blends gritty city stories with frontier spirit, creating a sound that’s at once nostalgic and fresh. Performing at renowned NYC venues like Rockwood Music Hall, Skinny Dennis, and The Waylon in Hell’s Kitchen, we bring authentic bluegrass and honky-tonk to Manhattan’s bustling music scene. Our gigs also include local favorites like Jalopy Tavern in Brooklyn, Sanger Hall in Queens, Paulie Gee’s in Greenpoint, and Daisy Dukes Honky Tonk, where the vibe is always high-energy and true to our roots.

Our talented lineup includes Tess Jacobson on fiddle and vocals, weaving rich harmonies and melodies; Paul Lederer on guitar, grounding each song with rhythm and soul; Donovan Bullen on bass and vocals, whose grooves keep the energy steady; and Zach Williams on mandolin and dobro, adding the unmistakable textures of bluegrass and Americana. Together, we create a sound inspired by bluegrass, country, folk, and Americana that resonates with city and country audiences alike.
